Nashville Capital Network
Nashville Capital Network (NCN)
The Nashville Capital Network is an organization that brings together entrepreneurs with ideas and investors with capital. Their goal is to bring the two groups together so more successful companies are started in this region. The organization maintains contacts with entrepreneurs and investors throughout the region, and they serve as a hub for out of town private investors who want to connect with local entrepreneurs and investors.
Every year at least three Owen MBA students work with NCN as part of its staff to help entrepreneurs polish their business plans, to do due diligence on ideas, and to maintain contacts with investors. Students working here meet a cross section of entrepreneurs and develop personal relationships with private investment firms.
A student can earn two hours of credit (Independent Study credit) for each mod they work with NCN, and usually NCN hires one student for a summer internship.
